Analyze AWS S3 Data with Gigasheet’s Intuitive Big Data Analytics
Overview
Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) is a cornerstone of cloud storage, housing a vast array of files uploaded by AWS users, as well as log files generated by various AWS services. Gigasheet supports file uploads from Amazon S3 using either public or pre-signed URLs (for direct integration with your AWS data lake or data warehouse, consider Gigasheet Enterprise), enabling you to bring large datasets into Gigasheet’s powerful big data spreadsheet interface. Whether you're working with massive log files or other large datasets, Gigasheet is designed to handle files that other applications can't, making it the perfect tool for your big data analysis needs.
Get Started
Uploading data from AWS S3 to Gigasheet is straightforward. Here’s how:
Using a Public URL:
If you've enabled public sharing for objects in your S3 bucket, you can directly use the public URL to upload files to Gigasheet. This requires setting appropriate bucket policies and object ACLs.
To upload the file to Gigasheet, navigate to the Import from Cloud menu in your Library, select AWS S3, and paste in the public URL. Once the link is entered, your file will be uploaded to Gigasheet.
Using a Pre-Signed URL:
For sensitive data that you prefer to keep private, you can create a pre-signed URL that grants temporary access to your S3 objects.
To create a pre-signed URL:
Select your file in the S3 bucket.
Click on “Actions” and select “Share with a pre-signed URL”.
Enter the duration for which the URL should remain active (typically 5 to 10 minutes is sufficient).
Click “Create pre-signed URL” and the URL will be copied to your clipboard
To upload the file to Gigasheet, navigate to the Import from Cloud menu in your Library, select AWS S3, and paste in the public URL. Once the link is entered, your file will be securely uploaded to Gigasheet.
