Crime in Denver

What are the most frequent crimes?

About This Data

The data was collected here, and became available here. With this information, we can have a better understanding of what crimes are occuring, and where. With this, we can prepare ourselves for these crimes, and also try to prevent them. We do have to keep in mind that this information is from Denver, and crimes likely vary significantly by state. However, we could use this data with other data to understand how crimes vary.

Things to try in the data set:

Group Data

Roll data up into groups of values within a column to look for trends. Place groups inside of groups to drill down another level, then group again!

Filter Data

Use the filters to narrow down the file to the values that interest you most. Only show values that include, exclude, contain, or are greater than a value (to name a few). Then add another level of filtering with AND / OR logic to dive deeper.

Search Data

Not sure where to start? Use search to find values in the file and then go back and filter or group the entire data set down to just that value.

Key Insights

Overview

The world is a big, scary place. Lots of bad things happen to good people every day. Understanding what crimes are most likely to happen can really help one be prepared for anything. Additionally, understanding exactly what crimes are occurring can alleviate some anxiety. Knowng that there are realy not that many murders every year, can calm some nerves. Because of this, we found it appropriate to publish a crime dataset. This one in particular is from Denver Colorado.
